Singer

Music, where do I begin? Music has been a LARGE part of my identity for as long as I can remember.  I grew up singing anything and everything.

I have , in fact, been told on many occasions that I could hum the tune to Buffalo Soldier by Bob Marley before I could talk.

Singing is defiitely a large part of my everyday life and I look for opportunities to sing whenever I can. Over the years I have found a number of outlets for my singing. When I was a teenager I sang with an acapella group in my home town of Port Augusta called Desert Voices and at University I sang with the Flinders University Choral Society (commonly known as FUCS).

I then discovered musical theatre and was instantly hooked.  I performed in a number of productions in Adelaide including:

  • Oh! What a Lovely War (Burnside Players)
  • Singing in the Rain (Northern Light Theatre Company)
  • Oliver! (Northern Light Theatre Company)
  • Avenue Q (Matt Byrne Media)
  • Beauty and the Beast (Northern Light Theatre Company
  • Oliver! – again… (G&S Society of South Australia)

Since having children and becoming a Mum, I have not really had time to devote to a whole musical… thankfully to fill that gap there is Broadway Sessions!  Broadway Sessions is a curated open mic night that happens on the last Sunday of the month.  The community surrounding this event is great, and I try to register to perform at least once every couple of months.
